Breakfast at Cafe Du MondePosted by Christine (Ellemford, United Kingdom) on 26 August 2012 in Food & Cuisine and Portfolio. This is a must do when in New Orleans, there is always a queue, we were lucky our friends had already queued and got a table for 4. The coffee is fabulous and the beinettes are seriously delicious. From their web site The Original Cafe Du Monde is a traditional coffee shop. Its menu consists of dark roasted Coffee and Chicory, Beignets, White and Chocolate Milk, and fresh squeezed Orange Juice. The coffee is served Black or Au Lait. Au Lait means that it is mixed half and half with hot milk. Beignets are square French -style doughnuts, lavishly covered with powdered sugar. In 1988 Iced Coffee was introduced to the cafe. Soft drinks also made their debut that year. I'm very much an amateur photographer. I live in the hills of the Scottish Borders which has fantastic flora and fauna, as well as wonderful light.
