An Unexpected Treat

Posted by Christine (Ellemford, United Kingdom) on 25 January 2012 in Food & Cuisine and Portfolio.

This broccoli should have been finished in the summer when i picked the big heads, however i picked these small shoots on Sunday and we had them with our roast. They were delicious.

I'm very much an amateur photographer. I live in the hills of the Scottish Borders which has fantastic flora and fauna, as well as wonderful light.

Not ain't life odd...When I was a kid anything green was to be avoided at all costs, these days, even a simple meal isn't right without some greens-and broccoli is my favourite-yum!

Nothing like collard greens to go with the roast, looks like you were feeding the
masses to a little wonderful dinner. Great photo.
